General Info
The Panoche Airstrip is a privately-owned dirt airstrip located about 30 nautical miles Southeast of Hollister, which is in a key position for cross-country flights to the southeast of Hollister. Glider pilots may land at the airstrip and take an aerotow out of the airstrip, provided that the pilot has first signed and returned the Release, Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement that can be accessed below. A scanned copy of the signed agreement should be sent to harryfox (at) sbcglobal.net. To fly a BASA glider into and/or out of Panoche, a BASA pilot must first receive a Panoche Checkout from a Hollister CFI, a BASA Flight Committee member or another BASA pilot approved to give Panoche Checkouts by the Flight Committee (send an email to the members list). There is no charge to use the Panoche Airstrip, but pilot volunteers will occasionally be needed for work parties to maintain the airstrip.
