DG-1000 Back in Service

From Harry:

The ballast box cover on the DG-1000 has been replaced and the glider is back in service. Thanks to Darryl Ramm for his efforts to get this quickly resolved.

From from the Maintenance Chairman (Matt Gillis):

The tail ballast box weight retainer/cover plate is installed. It should be noted that the pin that engages at the top is stiff and attention needs to be made to insure that the pin engages and latches fully. The latch is lubricated but it still does not pop in place. The spring tension is stronger than before, but there is still enough friction to keep it from cleanly popping into place. MEMBERS NEED TO INSURE THAT THE LOCKING PIN IS ENGAGED AND THE COVER PLATE IS TAPED!

Safe flying!
